Hi! My name is Joelle. One of my interests is health. I love cooking healthfully, and living healthfully.
There’s a lot that goes into my health journey, but one thing is for sure. Since I am a Christian, I believe that part of Christian stewardship is to take care of my body. 1 Corinthians 6:19, 20 tells me, “What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s.” I am indebted to God. He bought me with a price. Therefore, it is my duty to take care of my body – my earthly temple.
Because I’m married, I also need to help my husband by helping him to take care of his health as well. (We don’t have children, but if/ when they come along, we will also be responsible for teaching them healthful habits.)
A little more about me: I’m married to a physician. He is doing one year of specialty training after residency. We’re a young couple, married for over a year, and live in a very urban area of the U.S. I’m not a health professional by trade. I work in public relations and marketing. Before college (where I majored in journalism), I attended a health school at Wildwood for six months. I completed their Lifestyle Education program. This means that I can go to various Christian health missionary schools around the world and help with lifestyle counseling, hydrotherapy and massage.
I have several other hobbies. I play the piano for fun, mostly, and occasionally for church. I also love photography and scrapbooking. And when I can, I do a little bit of quilting. I love cooking and baking as well. We eat a predominately dairy-free vegetarian diet. (I don’t know if we’re completely vegan, because we do use honey and wear leather.)
Please come back and join me in my writing journey about health, happiness, and life in general! I plan on examining various health facets pertaining to nutrition, exercise, water, sunshine, temperance, air, rest, and trust in God, as well as random happy things pertaining to home life. I’m also interested in “going green” so you may see some of that too.
